When we first decided to build Phil Bolger's dinghy "Nymph" here on The Boat Shop we were unsure of the impact this design would have on the show. While Bolgers designs have a certain practical appeal, they are occasionally challenging to the eye. Even the plans could not prepare us for the growing suprise we experienced every time a new element was added to the boat.  As this little dinghy took shape the subtle beauty of her lines emerged. One of the restrictions of building in plywood is it's limited ability to take compound curves but, as we were to discover, this design is a pleasing blend of both form and function."Nymph" can be built for about $100. Now, don't be misled... she is as much boat for the money as we've built here in the shop. She took a minium of tools and skill to build and delivers a useful and capable dinghy at the end. Looking for a basic fun boat? "Nymph" is a terrific bet.
